3 Construction overview
Joshinetsu Expressway This is the repair work for the "Akari-san" tunnel between Usui Karuizawa IC and Saku IC (Out-bound line).
This time, since the lower part of the tunnel is damaged and the paved road surface is being damaged, full-scale repair work is being carried out before the traffic is affected.
Since it takes time to reinforce the lower part of the damaged tunnel body, and it is necessary to construct each lane, construction was carried out under the continuous lane regulation for day and night.
Although the invert installation work was completed at the end of July 2018, we are currently continuing the restoration work of the facilities inside the tunnel that were relocated before the start of the work.
We ask for your understanding and cooperation so that our customers can use the Expressway safely.
Invert installation work
* As of July 2018, the construction of the invert installation extension of approximately 150m has been completed.
Restoration work of relocated tunnel facilities
The following facilities will be restored to the positions before the relocation.
- Communication power cable ⇒ This facility is necessary for turning on / off road lights.
- Water supply pipe ⇒ This facility is connected to the fire hydrant in the tunnel and is a necessary facility for fire fighting activities in case of fire.
