NEXCO EAST Kitakami Management Office (Kitakami City, Iwate Prefecture) will be closing the entrance ramps to Kitakami Kanegasaki Interchange (hereinafter referred to as "IC") on both the northbound and southbound lanes of the E4 Tohoku Expressway at night for pavement repairs.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and we ask for your understanding and cooperation in allowing yourself plenty of time when heading out.

1. Closed location and date and time

2. Detour

For detours, please refer to the attached document [PDF: 345KB].
The detour will increase travel time, so please allow yourself plenty of time when traveling.

3. Construction overview

Tohoku Expressway　Repair work will be performed on the entrance ramp of the Kitakami Kanegasaki IC on both the up and down lines due to pavement damage. The section where this work will be performed is a single lane, and since it is not possible to perform the work with normal lane restrictions, it is necessary to close the ramp for the work.
Therefore, in order to minimize inconvenience to customers, the ramp will be closed during the nighttime on weekdays when traffic volume is low, so that the work can be carried out in an intensive and efficient manner. We ask for your understanding and cooperation as this work is necessary for the safe and comfortable use of Expressway.

    We will inform you of road information in an easy-to-understand manner by the monitor screens installed in SA / PA.

    You can get road traffic information with VICS-compatible car navigation and other on-board devices.
  • Information is also distributed on the official X (formerly Twitter) account.
