NEXCO EAST Tohoku Regional Head Office (Miyagino Ward, Sendai City) would like to inform you that it has compiled a report on the usage status of Expressway in the Tohoku region managed by our company during the Golden Week period [the 11 days from Friday, April 26, 2024 to Monday, May 6, 2024].

Traffic volume

  • The average daily traffic volume in the Tohoku region was 20,800 vehicles per day, approximately 98% compared to the same period in 2023.
  • Traffic volumes peaked on Friday, May 3rd on Out-bound lanes and Sunday, May 5th on In-bound lanes.

Congestion

  • There were seven traffic jams of 5km or more in Out-bound direction (one less than the previous year), two in the In-bound direction (two more than the previous year) and one more than the previous year.
  • 最大の渋滞長は、5月3日(金)に東北道(下り線)福島TN付近を先頭に発生した15.0kmでした。この渋滞は、事故が原因となり発生したものです。
