Four. Detour

For detours, please refer to Appendix 1 [PDF: 312KB].
The detour will increase travel time, so please allow yourself plenty of time when traveling.

Five. Regarding transit fare adjustment due to suspension of traffic

For customers who exit Expressway due to a nighttime road closure and then detour around the closed section to re-enter in the same direction, a "transfer adjustment" will be made to adjust the toll fee according to the section used. (Appendix 2 [PDF: 271KB])

How to use transit fare adjustment

ETC customers
  • For customers using ETC, please drive wirelessly at designated outflow ICs, and also wirelessly drive at re-inflow ICs. (Transfer certificates are not issued for ETC vehicles)
  • ETC time zone discount will be applied, considering the transited journey as one.
Toll charges are adjusted at the time of billing, so they may differ from those displayed at the toll gate.
Customers such as cash
  • Customers paying by cash or other means should collect a "Transfer Certificate" at the designated IC where they leave, collect a pass at the designated IC where they re-enter, and then hand over the "Transfer Certificate" and pass at the toll gate where they first pay the toll.

Precautions regarding transit fare adjustment

  • After the road closure is lifted, transfer fares will be adjusted even if you enter from a designated exit interchange.
  • If there is an outflow at the IC in the road closure section, or if it is re-inflow after the road closure is lifted, the transfer fare will be adjusted.
  • Only vehicles with ETC equipment can use the Oshu Smart IC, Hanamaki PA Smart IC, and Yokote Kita Smart IC.
