This time, Iwate Prefecture, Hanamaki City, and East Nippon Expressway Co., Ltd. Tohoku Regional Head Office (Miyagino-ku, Sendai City) will jointly install it in the E4 Tohoku Expressway Hanamaki Parking Area (hereinafter "PA"). We are pleased to inform you that the official name of smart interchange (hereafter "smart IC") has been decided.

"Hanamaki PA Smart Interchange"

2. Concept of name

1. The name of the smart IC is easy to understand and concise for the user of the smart IC, and can clearly determine that it is an IC dedicated to ETC.
2. The smart IC is a smart IC that connects to the existing "Hanamaki PA", and it can be clearly determined that it is a gateway installed in the PA.

For this reason, we chose this name.

3. Process leading up to the name decision

The name was decided by the "(provisional name) Hanamaki PA Smart Interchange District Council" consisting of Hanamaki City and ^others. It was decided through the prescribed procedures by the Japan Expressway Holding and Debt Repayment Agency, an independent administrative agency.
(*) An organization that plays the role of a traffic sign proper committee in Iwate Prefecture, in which road administrators in Iwate Prefecture participate.
