NEXCO EAST Sendai Construction Office (Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture) and Sendai East Management Office (Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture) are working to develop female engineers and exchange information. E4 We will hold field tours and exchange meetings for Expressway such as the Joban Expressway 4-lane construction site.

The purpose of this initiative is to promote the active participation of female engineers in the construction and civil engineering industry, improve communication between business operators, and create a construction site that is easy to work with. NEXCO EAST becomes the secretariat and is planning with the cooperation of construction related organizations such as the Federation of Trade Associations Tohoku Branch.

The first session was held on June 7, 2019, with the participation of about 60 female engineers.

Joban Expressway 4-lane construction (between Yamamoto IC and Iwanuma IC)

Joban Expressway 4 lanes were commercialized in 2016, and it is carried out between Fukushima Prefecture Iwaki Chuo IC-Hirono IC (about 27 km) and Miyagi Prefecture between Yamamoto IC-Iwanuma IC (about 14 km).

The Abukuma Ohashi Bridge, which passes over the first-class river Abukuma River, has adopted the pneumatic caisson method to complete the pier construction in order to carry out the pier construction within the river.

From November to May next year, we will carry out girder construction with a crane.

After an on-site tour of the Tohoku Expressway renewal construction (between Tsukidate IC and Wakayanagi Kinari IC), female engineers exchanged opinions on work-life balance and work style reforms with the aim of creating a workplace where women can work comfortably. .
