Please refer to the traffic congestion forecast this time and make a comfortable travel plan, such as avoiding the hours when traffic congestion is predicted.

1 Congestion prediction

Congestion is expected to occur on the Expressway the Tohoku region during the Golden Week period due to the concentration of passengers heading to resort areas.

[Results from last year (reference)]
During the Golden Week period of last year [Wednesday, April 25, 2007 to Tuesday, May 8, 2007, 14 days], there was 7 times of traffic congestion over 10 km on the Tohoku Expressway (7 Out-bound lines, 7 In-bound lines) It occurred 0 times. Of these, four were caused by traffic accidents and three were caused by traffic concentration.

[Congestion prediction method (reference)]
Congestion forecast excludes congestion caused by specific events such as accidents and traffic closures based on past traffic congestion (years with similar or similar day arrangements) and traffic volume changes, and determines event dates. In consideration of this, we predict the time and place of traffic congestion.

In addition, we do not consider unforeseen events such as accidents and road closures.

(2) Congestion at the interchange (IC) exit
During Golden Week, it is expected that the nearest IC exits will be crowded, as the number of customers heading for events such as cherry blossoms and leisure spots will be concentrated.

When congestion occurs at the IC exit, we are working to alleviate the congestion by opening the toll booth exit lane and arranging guides to guide traffic. (SA) ・Parking area (PA) highway information terminals and electronic display boards inform you of road conditions, so please check the ICs before and after using the ICs. Thank you.

Expressway main congestion, the In-bound speed is reduced to one not notice at the point that reaches the slope, distance to the subsequent vehicle that shrinks will occur in the opportunity.

In such areas, "low speed warning" is displayed, and in areas where there is a lot of traffic congestion, "post-collision warning" is displayed by means of an electronic display, etc. Please confirm the above and cooperate with us to alleviate traffic congestion and drive safely.

Also, if you notice a traffic jam ahead, please turn on the hazard lamp and cooperate with the prevention of a rear-end collision accident by signaling to the following vehicle.
