1 Congestion prediction

Expressway in the Tohoku region has a heavy traffic every year due to the concentration of customers who spend their Obon in their hometown. During the Obon season, it is predicted that congestion will occur near the exit of the IC, where many people head to events and leisure spots.

When a traffic jam occurs at the IC exit, we are trying to alleviate the traffic jam by fully opening the toll booth exit lane and arranging guides. Please check the traffic conditions announced on the highway information terminal, electronic display board, etc., and use the IC one step ahead or the one ahead of you.

2 Congestion other than Obon season

In August, summer festivals are held all over Tohoku, and many people are expected to attend the Tohoku Five Great Festivals (see table below).

Every year, there is no traffic congestion on the main Expressway due to festivals, but the nearest IC toll gate may be temporarily congested. Be careful ahead and keep in mind to drive safely.
