NEXCO EAST Niigata Regional Head Office (Chuo-ku, Niigata City) will be closing service areas (hereinafter "SA"), parking areas (hereinafter "Kan-Etsu Expressway"), and interchanges (hereinafter "IC") on the​ ​E18 Joshin-Etsu Expressway (hereinafter "Joshinetsu Expressway") and E17 Kan-Etsu Expressway (hereinafter "Kan'etsu Expressway") to carry out pavement repair work, etc.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and ask for your understanding and cooperation in allowing yourself plenty of time when traveling and using nearby SA, PA, IC, etc.

2. Detours and nearby SA/PA

① Joshinetsu Expressway Out-bound Myoko SA Closed

　For customers coming from the Nagano area using Myoko SA, please use Obuse PA, Kurohime Nojiriko PA, and Arai PA, as Myoko SA will be closed. Please note that Kurohime Nojiriko PA is expected to be crowded during the closure, so please consider using a nearby rest facility.

②Closed Nakago IC exit on In-bound Joshin-Etsu Expressway (1/2)

　For customers coming from the Joetsu area using Nakago IC, please use the local roads from Joetsu Takada IC or Arai Smart IC before Nakago IC as the exit for the In-bound lanes will be closed.

The detour will increase travel time, so please allow yourself plenty of time when traveling.

  • Arai Smart IC is only available for ETC vehicles.

Kan-Etsu Expressway Out-bound Tsuchitaru PA Closed

　For customers using Tsuchitaru PA from the Takasaki area, please use the nearby Tanigawadake PA or the further Shiozawa Ishiuchi SA as Tsuchitaru PA is closed.

3. Construction overview

Damaged road surfaces will be repaired at the Joshinetsu Expressway Out-bound Line Myoko SA Ramp, the In-bound Line Nakago IC Exit Ramp and the Kan-Etsu Expressway Out-bound Line Totaru PA Ramp.
In order to minimize inconvenience to our customers, we will close the road during times when traffic is low, and carry out construction intensively and efficiently. This is necessary for the safe and comfortable use of Expressway, so we ask for your understanding and cooperation.

Four. How to obtain traffic information

(1) Guidance by distribution / posting

  • Notice signs, posters and leaflets will be posted at toll booths and rest facilities nearby.

(2) Road traffic information that can be obtained before going out

(3) Road traffic information available while using the Expressway

  • Road information board
  • Highway radio (AM1620kHz)
    The section where the highway radio is broadcasting is indicated by the sign on Expressway.
  • Highway Information Terminal
    Wide-area road traffic information is notified on the monitor screen installed in SA / PA.
  • VICS
    Road traffic information can be obtained from devices such as VICS-compatible car navigation systems.
