NEXCO EAST Niigata Regional Head Office (Chuo-ku, Niigata City) is Niigata during the year-end and New Year period [December 26, 2013 (Thurs)-January 5, 2014 (Sun): 11 days] I would like to inform you about Expressway in the prefecture.
Congestion forecast at the end of the year
We predict that there will not be more than 5 km of traffic congestion due to traffic concentration on Expressway in the prefecture.
During the period, on Expressway in the prefecture We predict that there will be no traffic congestion of 5 km or more due to traffic congestion, but there is a possibility that traffic congestion will occur due to slow speeds during snowfall and chain checks*. There are many fatal accidents on Expressway in the prefecture.
Since the beginning of this year, fatal accidents have frequently occurred on Expressway served by the Niigata Regional Head Office and since January 2013, "6" fatal accidents have occurred. (As of November 28, 2013)
In our Regional Head Office, we cooperate with related organizations such as Niigata Prefectural Expressway Traffic Police Corps and other organizations to continuously carry out traffic safety awareness activities and call for safe driving.
