3. Outline of exit lane extension project

Traffic jams occur on In-bound line of Kan-Etsu Expressway during times of heavy traffic, such as the busy summer season, long holidays, tourist season, and ski season. The main reason for this is that the Out-bound slope of the main line slows down, and the speed of vehicles flowing out of the Maebashi IC slows down.
By extending the exit lane, it will be possible for vehicles exiting the Maebashi IC to change lanes at an early stage, ensuring smooth traffic at congestion points and reducing traffic congestion.
