Due to the impact of Typhoon No. 19, the embankment transformation between Usui-Karuizawa IC and Saku IC on the Joshin-Etsu Expressway
We will continue to close the road until the emergency measures work is completed. Customers are kindly requested to use the following detours.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and ask for your understanding and cooperation.
* Since the access road connecting Usui-Karuizawa IC and National Highway No. 18 is currently impassable, the closed section is between Matsuida Myogi IC and Saku IC.
1 Outline of disaster
Attachment [PDF: 545KB] As shown in the figure, a change was confirmed on the embankment in the Kosaka district of Saku City on the Joshin-Etsu Expressway. Since the groundwater level is rising and the transformation is progressing, we will take emergency measures.
2 Location map and detour
Please use Route 18 (Usui Bypass) as a detour while the road is closed.
All vehicles cannot run during the construction, so please use the Usui Bypass even if you are in an emergency vehicle.
Passengers who leave the Expressway due to a traffic closure, bypass the traffic closure section, and then transfer again in the same direction will adjust the toll charges according to the section used.
3 Prospects for lifting roadblocks
It is expected that it will take at least 10 days before the road is closed.
* After the suspension of traffic closure, we plan to have two-way traffic (one lane each for the upper and lower lanes).
