3 Business overview
On the In-bound line of Kan-Etsu Expressway, heavy traffic jams occur during periods of heavy traffic, such as the summer season, large holidays, holidays and ski seasons. The main reason for this is a slow speed due to turbulence in the flow of cars due to a merged car from the loose In-bound slope or IC.
For this reason, we have formulated a plan to increase the number of lanes with the aim of alleviating traffic congestion, and we are proceeding with the work in sequence. This time, the extension work of the confluence lane of Hanazono IC has been completed and we will start operation this time.

5 Hanazono IC (In-bound line) additional lane business
In December 2010, we installed a 1.5km “Yuzuri lane” on the Tokyo side of the Hanazono IC. However, by extending the “merging lane” this time, the cars flowing from the Hanazono IC will be in this lane. By using, the balance of vehicle inflow to the main line will be improved and smooth merging will be possible.
