Smoothing traffic in the city center and improving logistics productivity
- With this opening, approximately 60% of the outer ring has been completed, and four radiant roads (East Kanto Road Joban Expressway Tohoku Expressway Kan-Etsu Expressway) are connected.
- The effect of the ring road is further expressed, such as being able to access the Kanto region (Saitama, Tochigi, Gunma, etc.) from the coastal area of Chiba without passing through the city center, contributing to the improvement of logistics productivity.
(Travel time from East Kanto Expressway to Kan-Etsu Expressway, Tohoku Expressway, Joban Expressway is reduced from about 18 minutes to 26 minutes)
Voices from companies along the line
- The Wangan area around the Takatani JCT is an intermediate point between Narita Airport and Haneda Airport, and is convenient because it has the Shutoko Wangan Line and the East Kanto Expressway, which makes the outer ring even more convenient.
- Opening the outer ring will improve accessibility to Tohoku Expressway and Kan-Etsu Expressway, and improve location potential.

Alleviate traffic congestion in outer ring areas and improve the safety of community roads
- The first 4-lane road (National Route 298) between Ichikawa and Matsudo opened. Traffic will switch from the surrounding roads to National Highway 298, contributing to the improvement of the local traffic environment.
- In addition to alleviating traffic congestion in areas along the lines, it is expected to improve the safety of school routes by reducing the amount of detours flowing into residential roads.
Promote wide-area tourism exchange in various parts of the Kanto region and the Gulf area
- It is expected to promote wide-area tourism exchange by improving accessibility and increasing route options between the Gulf area where popular tourist facilities are scattered and tourist facilities in the Saitama area and northern Kanto area. (For example, it takes about 18 minutes to get from Tsukuba to Tokyo Disney Resort)
