3 Business overview
There is approximately 100,000 traffic per day between the Keiyo Road Anagawa (middle) IC and the Kaizuka IC, and chronic traffic congestion occurs due to traffic concentration during the morning and evening commuting hours and weekends during leisure periods. There is also a rear-end collision in a traffic jam. Therefore, as a traffic safety measure to alleviate these traffic congestions and reduce traffic accidents during traffic congestions, a new "additional lane" was established to connect the acceleration/deceleration lanes between interchanges. Is the one to start.
On April 24, 2014, we started operation of additional lanes between Anagawa (east) IC and Kaizuka IC on the In-bound line, and on May 28, 2014 for some sections of the Out-bound line. It is effective in reducing accidents.
4 Sectional view of the section operated this time
In the additional lane expansion work this time, we did not acquire land, but narrowed the width of the shoulder and median strip, and widened the existing road site to secure the required cross section of the additional lane.
5 Effects of new "additional lanes"
By installing an additional lane this time, the traffic capacity of the entire section will be increased by about 25% compared to the past, and congestion due to merging from the Anagawa (middle) IC to the main lane and changing lanes when flowing out to Kaizuka IC will be reduced. ..
As a result, we expect that the flow of traffic will be smooth, traffic congestion will be alleviated and the punctuality and safety of traffic will be improved, and the time lost due to traffic congestion will be reduced by about 70%.
6 Requests to Customers Using "Additional Lanes"
- Passengers entering from the Anagawa (Middle) IC should continue to drive in the additional lane after the inflow, and join the main line with plenty of time.
- Customers spilling at Kaizuka IC should use the additional lane as soon as possible.
- The speed limit for additional lanes is 60 km/h. Drive at a safe speed.
7 Future Keiyo Road Congestion Measures
In Keiyo Road 's traffic congestion control business, we are currently working on extending the accelerating and decelerating lanes of the Hanawa IC and Makuhari IC on the In-bound line. We will continue to work on Keiyo Road 's measures against traffic congestion, so we kindly ask for your understanding and cooperation.
