The Chiba Prefectural Police arrested a fraudulent person who had abused the ETC system and was spared from paying the toll charge originally to be paid on Saturday, March 6 for suspected computer use fraud (Article 246-2 of the Penal Code). I announced that I sent it on Monday, March 8.
In this case, when a suspect sets up an ETC on-board device for his own large-sized sightseeing bus, by registering a place that should originally be an oversized car as a one-rank lower large car (routed bus) due to the vehicle type classification, We were repeatedly arrested for improper payments, and our reporting to the Chiba Prefectural Police triggered our arrest.
Our company has always been working with a strong stance of not allowing illegal traffic so as not to damage customers' trust in the toll road business. We believe that the recent arrest of a suspect will ensure fairness in the toll burden and prevent unauthorized traffic.
We will continue to take a resolute attitude against unauthorized traffic and will actively cooperate with police investigations to tackle unauthorized traffic.
In addition, for illegal tolls by the suspect, we will check the difference in toll charges and request a surcharge (twice the amount exempted) in addition to the illegally charged toll difference.
