NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office (Atsubetsu-ku, Sapporo) will hold the "Hokkaido Highway Show Area® 2024 in Wattsu PA" from 10:00 to 16:00 on Saturday, September 21st and Sunday, September 22nd at the Wattsu Parking Area (PA) (Out-bound, Sapporo direction) on the E5 Do-O Expressway (Do-o Expressway).
"Hokkaido Highway Show Area®" is an event that promotes the attractions of the region from service areas and parking areas. In cooperation with the local community, we actively promote "food and tourism" in various parts of Hokkaido. As part of the promotion of tourism in Hokkaido, we hold the event every year and attract many visitors.
会場では、ご当地グルメや特産品の販売、地域のPRなど、様々な団体が地域の魅力を発信します。今回のイベントでは持続可能な「ワイン産地北海道」の実現に向け、ワイン産業のPRを実施します。
また、北海道警察高速隊の協力のもと交通安全啓発も同時に行います。当社ブースでは、地域のお土産が当たる抽選会のほか、クイズラリーといったご家族で楽しめるイベントを実施します。

(2) Promoting the wine industry
In order to realize a sustainable "Hokkaido wine producing region," Sapporo Wine Co., Ltd. and the Hokkaido Economic Federation will promote the wine industry.

(3) Traffic safety awareness campaigns
On both Saturday, September 21st and Sunday, September 22nd, with the cooperation of the Hokkaido Prefectural Police Highway Patrol, we will be exhibiting Hokkaido Prefectural Police patrol cars and two patrol cars from NEXCO EAST Traffic Management Unit.
(4) Gifts for visitors
During the event, balloons will be given away to the first 150 people on both days. In addition, customers who spend 500 yen or more (tax included) at the shops and event booths at Watatsu PA (Out-bound, Sapporo direction) will receive a ticket to participate in the "Candy Scooping" event. Please note that the event will end as soon as the candy runs out.
We will also be holding a Hokkaido Smartphone Stamp Rally, an initiative of NEXCO EAST, and a fun raffle where you can win great prizes by answering a quiz about exhibitors at the Highway Show Area, so please be sure to stop by.
(5) Character Greetings
During the event, NEXCO EAST manners-up characters "Manati" and "Ikanzame" will be there to play, as well as Niki Town's mascot character "Nikibo" and Setana Town's mascot character "Setana-chan." They will be walking around the PA, so be sure to take photos with them.
(6) Collaboration with AEON Financial Services
During the event, we will set up an information and enrollment booth for the "AEON E-NEXCOpass Card," which allows you to use Expressway at a discount. If you enroll in the "AEON E-NEXCOpass Card" on the day of the event, you will receive a "minicar with NEXCO EAST logo."
(7) We will conduct a demonstration experiment of a chatbot that utilizes generative AI.
We will be conducting a demonstration experiment of our original tourism AI chatbot, which utilizes generative AI, as a new information dissemination tool to promote tourism along Expressway.
If you try out the chatbot and answer the survey, you will receive a free gift.
The NEXCO EAST Group has positioned the period from 2021 to 2025 as "a period that contributes to the achievement of the SDGs and transforms into a new future society," and is making various efforts.
We believe that the implementation of the "Hokkaido Highway Show Area" will contribute to the 8th and 17th SDGs as business activities that will lead to the promotion of sustainable tourism and the revitalization of local communities.
NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office is a collaborative project between Hokkaido and the Hokkaido Tourism Promotion Organization with the aim of supporting the tourism industry in various parts of Hokkaido that was hit by the Large of the new coronavirus infection and recovering tourism demand. I am participating in a certain "HOKKAIDO LOVE! Project".
As a collaboration between "NEXCO EAST NEXCO!" Based on the philosophy of this project, we will make efforts to boost tourism in our beloved Hokkaido.
