NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office (Atsubetsu-ku, Sapporo) will hold the "Hokkaido Highway Show Area® 2024 in Usuzan SA" from 10:00 to 16:00 on Saturday, September 14th and 10:00 to 15:00 on Sunday, September 15th at the Usuzan Service Area (SA) (In-bound, Hakodate direction) on the E5 Do-O Expressway (Do-o Expressway).

"Hokkaido Highway Show Area®" is an event that promotes the attractions of the region from service areas and parking areas. In cooperation with the local community, we actively promote "food and tourism" in various parts of Hokkaido. As part of the promotion of tourism in Hokkaido, we hold the event every year and attract many visitors.

At the venue, various groups will be promoting the charms of their local areas, selling local delicacies and specialties such as Noboribetsu City's "Enma Yakisoba" and Mukawa Town's "Mukawa Wagyu Hamburger," as well as promoting the area. In addition, with the cooperation of the Hokkaido Prefectural Police Highway Patrol, there will be a traffic safety awareness campaign. There will also be a raffle with the chance to win local souvenirs, as well as original badge giveaways and a quiz rally, which the whole family can enjoy.

Event content

(1) Regional promotion, sales of local gourmet and special products using local ingredients

(2) Traffic safety awareness campaigns

On both Saturday, September 14th and Sunday, September 15th, with the cooperation of the Hokkaido Prefectural Police Highway Patrol, we will be exhibiting two vehicles, including a Hokkaido Prefectural Police patrol car and NEXCO EAST Traffic Management Unit patrol car. In addition, we will be giving away original badges with photos of children wearing the Traffic Management Unit uniforms.

(3) Present plan for visitors

During the event, balloons will be given away to the first 100 people. In addition, customers who spend 500 yen or more (tax included) at the shops and event booths at Usuzan SA (In-bound, Hakodate direction) will receive a ticket to participate in the "Candy Scooping" event. Please note that the event will end as soon as the candy runs out.
There will also be a Hokkaido Smartphone Stamp Rally, an initiative of NEXCO EAST, and a fun raffle where you can win great prizes by answering quizzes about exhibitors at the Highway Show Area, so please be sure to stop by.

During the event, we will set up an information and enrollment booth for the "AEON E-NEXCOpass Card," which allows you to use Expressway at a discount. If you enroll in the "AEON E-NEXCOpass Card" on the day of the event, you will receive a "minicar with NEXCO EAST logo."

(6) Cooperation with local public organizations

"Hokkaido Highway Show Area® 2024 in Ususan SA" is being held with the cooperation of the Hokkaido Iburi Regional Development Bureau and is also supported by the Ainu Cultural Foundation.
NEXCO EAST will continue to position service areas and parking areas as "show windows for the region" and will work closely with the local community to actively promote the attractive tourism resources of each region in Hokkaido and contribute to regional development.
