NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office (Atsubetsu-ku, Sapporo) announces the traffic congestion forecast (concentrated traffic congestion) for the Bon vacation period [2024 August 8 (Thursday) to 2024 August 18 (Sunday): 11 days] at Expressway in Hokkaido Regional Head Office jurisdiction.
Holiday discounts do not apply during the Bon Festival To ease traffic congestion. To ease traffic congestion, We ask for your cooperation in "dispersing use" by avoiding crowded days and times.
⇒We expect heavy traffic congestion especially from August 10th (Saturday) to August 14th (Wednesday)
⇒ Traffic jam of 10km or more
August 11th (Sun) and 12th (Mon) Peak time: 11am, Hokkaido In-bound Sapporo Minami IC ⇒ Eniwa IC 10km
August 12th (Monday) and 13th (Tuesday) Peak time: 10am, 10km from Oiwakecho IC to Mukawa Hobetsu IC on the Out-bound Doto Expressway
Wednesday, August 14th, peaking at 5pm, 15km from Tomamu IC to Mukawa Hobetsu IC on the In-bound Doto Expressway

NEXCO EAST 's customer website "DraPla" has set up a special site for the traffic congestion period. In addition to posting a traffic congestion forecast guide, the "Hokkaido Regional Head Office Traffic Forecaster" explains how to avoid traffic congestion in a video. In addition, the "Obon Traffic Forecast" will be distributed and posted at rest facilities in Hokkaido from around the end of July, so please make use of it.
