NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office (Atsubetsu-ku, Sapporo) will hold the "Hokkaido Highway Show Area® 2024 in Watatsu PA" from 10:00 to 16:00 on Saturday, June 29th and Sunday, June 30th at the Watatsu Parking Area (PA) (In-bound, towards Tomakomai) on the E5 Do-O Expressway (Do-o Expressway).
The "Hokkaido Highway Show Area®" is an event that actively promotes the attractive "food and tourism" of various parts of Hokkaido in cooperation with the local community, and disseminates the charms of the region from service areas and parking areas in order to contribute to regional development. It is held every year as part of the promotion of tourism in Hokkaido, and many customers visit the event.
At the venue, various groups will promote the charms of their regions by selling local delicacies and specialties such as "torimeshi" from Bibai City and "coal zangi" from Mikasa City, as well as promoting the region. In addition, in order to realize a sustainable "Hokkaido wine region," this event will have a winery exhibit and will promote and sell the wine industry exclusively at this event. At our booth, there will be a lottery where you can win local souvenirs, as well as photo opportunities with patrol cars and a quiz rally, which the whole family can enjoy.

(3) "Working Vehicles" Exhibition
On both Saturday, June 29th and Sunday, June 30th, NEXCO EAST 's patrol car will be on display. You can sit in the driver's seat and take photos.
(4) Gifts for visitors
During the event, balloons will be given away to the first 150 people on both days. In addition, customers who spend 500 yen or more (tax included) at the shops and event booths at Watatsu PA (In-bound direction, northbound) will receive a ticket for a "grab sweets" event. Please note that the event will end as soon as the sweets run out.
We will also be holding a Hokkaido Smartphone Stamp Rally, an initiative of NEXCO EAST, and a fun raffle where you can win great prizes by answering a quiz about exhibitors at the Highway Show Area, so please be sure to stop by.
(5) Character Greetings
During the event, NEXCO EAST Manners Up mascots "Manatee" and "Ikanzame" will also be coming to play. They will be walking around the PA, so be sure to take photos with them.
(6) Cooperation with local public organizations
"Hokkaido Highway Show Area® 2024 in Wattsu PA" is being held in cooperation with the Ishikari Regional Development Bureau of Hokkaido and the Sorachi Regional Development Bureau of Hokkaido. It is also supported by the Hokkaido Economic Federation, the Hokkaido Regional Development Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and the Ainu Cultural Foundation.
NEXCO EAST will continue to position service areas and parking areas as "show windows for the region" and will work closely with the local community to actively promote the attractive tourism resources of each region in Hokkaido and contribute to regional development.
The NEXCO EAST Group positions the period from 2021 to 2025 as ``a period to contribute to the achievement of the SDGs and transform toward a new future society'' and is engaged in various initiatives.
We believe that the implementation of the "Hokkaido Highway Show Area" this time will contribute to SDGs 8 and 17 as business activities that promote sustainable tourism and revitalize local communities.
NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office is a collaborative project between Hokkaido and the Hokkaido Tourism Promotion Organization with the aim of supporting the tourism industry in various parts of Hokkaido that was hit by the Large of the new coronavirus infection and recovering tourism demand. I am participating in a certain "HOKKAIDO LOVE! Project".
As a collaboration between "NEXCO EAST NEXCO!" Based on the philosophy of this project, we will make efforts to boost tourism in our beloved Hokkaido.
