Immediately after the disaster, the five passes connecting the Central and Eastern Hokkaido areas and the Doto Expressway were closed, which meant that the required time would increase by 3 hours compared to normal times, but at the NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office, the Doto Expressway We promptly proceeded with the emergency restoration work in the closed section, and canceled the closed road at 8 o'clock on September 1, 23 hours and 30 minutes after the start of the work, and secured the flow of people and logistics in the central and eastern areas.
This series of efforts has been highly evaluated, and we have received the "Technical Award (II)" from the Japan Society of Civil Engineers. The award ceremony will be held in Tokyo on June 8th (Friday).
