NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office (Sapporo City Atsubetsu-ku) is due to the concentration of traffic on the Expressway in Hokkaido during the year-end and New Year period [December 28, 2017 (Thurs)-January 4, 2018 (Thurs): 8 days] We have summarized the traffic congestion forecast and countermeasures, so we will inform you.
Please use this traffic forecast to avoid peak traffic and adjust your departure time to make a comfortable travel plan. Also, please be sure to check the latest traffic information before departure, as the actual traffic congestion may differ from the forecast due to accidents or weather.
1 Congestion prediction and request for distributed use
- During the year-end and New Year holidays, it is predicted that congestion will occur on Tuesday, January 2 and Wednesday, January 3.

2 Measures against traffic congestion and congestion

Regarding traffic congestion and congestion countermeasures during the year-end and New Year holidays, we will implement the following efforts to improve safety and comfort.
- Providing traffic congestion information and warnings by using marked vehicles at major traffic congestion points and at the end of traffic congestion
