3 Traffic restrictions

In the floor slab replacement work, we will reduce the section of each two lanes of up and down lines to one lane and consolidate it into Out-bound lanes and enforce face-to-face traffic control all day. During the several days at the beginning and end of the construction period, all-day overtaking lane restrictions will be imposed on the up and down lines as a preparatory step to switch to two-way traffic regulation.

4 Construction overview

About 46 years have passed since Ono Bridge, which is located between the Asari IC and the Zenikoku IC on the Sasson Expressway, has been cracked due to an increase in wheel load due to the increase in the size of the vehicle and the winter season. The floor slab must be replaced because the concrete floor slab is deteriorated and the reinforcing bars are rusted due to the salt content caused by spraying the antifreeze agent.

In order to replace the concrete floor slab part of the bridge, it is necessary to close the In-bound line (toward Otaru), but one of the 2 lanes of the Out-bound line (towards Sapporo) should be used for the In-bound line (toward Otaru). By carrying out transfer and face-to-face traffic, we will minimize the impact on traffic and carry out construction.

Main work contents

By replacing the deteriorated existing concrete slab with a new slab, it will be reborn as an Expressway that can be used safely and comfortably.

5 Requests for use

  1. The construction section spans approximately 3km and is reduced from the conventional two lanes on each side to one lane, and one-sided lanes on each side (two lanes up and down) are restricted.
For this reason, the road shoulder is narrow in the one-lane section on one side, so when traveling, please comply with the regulation speed and secure the inter-vehicle distance to be careful of a rear-end collision accident.
Also, as there is a large lane shift in order to shift to the one-lane section on one side, please follow the local information signs.
  2. During the construction period, we will provide construction regulation information as well as call attention to construction regulation information that utilizes information boards, road signs, and simple information boards, and cautions to drive safely. Before riding, please check the above information before riding safely.
  3. Please check the latest traffic restrictions and traffic jam information before going out.
