NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office (Atsubetsu Ward, Sapporo City) predicts traffic congestion due to traffic congestion at Expressway in Hokkaido during the Golden Week period [April 28th to May 7th] and its countermeasures. I have summarized it, so I will inform you.
Especially on May 3rd (Wednesday), the Doto Expressway Memuro IC (Interchange) to Tomamu IC (Chitose direction) predicts a traffic jam of about 25km starting near the Karikachi No. 1 tunnel. When planning your departure, please avoid the traffic congestion by shifting the peak day or time of expected traffic congestion.
There are alternative road measures between the Shimukappu IC and the Tokachi Shimizu IC on the Doto Expressway. Please use the safe driving rules by following the traffic rules and etiquette.
