NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office (Atsubetsu Ward, Sapporo City) has summarized the traffic conditions on Expressway in Hokkaido during the year-end and New Year holidays as follows.
Traffic volume during one period
- The average traffic volume in the main sections (average value of the seven main sections) was 10,900, 97% of the previous year.
- On the Hokkaido Expressway, the traffic volume between Fukagawa IC and Asahikawa Takasu IC, which had many road closures last year, was 108% compared to last year. On the other hand, the volume of traffic between Kunisashi IC and Chomanbu IC was 91% of the previous year's level due to the effect of more snowfall on December 31st and January 1st.
- In addition, the traffic volume between the Asari IC and the Zenibako IC on the Tatarudo route was 93% of the previous year's level, due to the long-term suspension of traffic due to snow on December 26.
- The traffic volume on each section of the Doto Expressway was almost the same as last year.
