As part of its efforts to improve the convenience of rest facilities, NEXCO EAST (Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo) will begin a demonstration experiment at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, April 7th at the Expressway Namie IC to trial the operation of managed land inside the interchange (hereinafter referred to as the "IC") as a temporary parking lot, with the aim of providing a Joban Expressway and ensuring opportunities for rest for expressway users.
In order to resolve the shortage of rest facilities and create a good driving environment, the "Development Policy for Improving Convenience at Expressway SA/PA (December 2023) *1" outlines a policy to open up management sites inside the ICs and develop them into parking lots where people can take short breaks in areas without rest facilities where the distance between facilities is 35 km or more.
Customers using this parking lot are requested to follow the directions on Expressway and within the parking lot appropriately.
