NEXCO EAST NEXCO CENTRAL / / JB Honsha / Japan Highway Traffic Information Center (JHTC) has compiled a traffic congestion forecast (traffic congestion of 10 km or more) due to traffic concentration at during the NEXCO WEST Expressway Bon Festival period (8 days from Wednesday, August 9, 2023 to Wednesday, August 16, 2023).
1. 1. Request for decentralized use by forecasting traffic congestion and changing the date and time of use
- Please check the details of traffic congestion predictions and change the date and time of use to avoid traffic congestion.
On Out-bound line, from August 11th (Friday/holiday) to 13th (Sunday),
On In-bound line, there will be frequent traffic jams from August 13th (Sun) to 15th (Tue).
Number of traffic jams over 10km
Total of up and down lines 438 times (8/9-8/16)
Prediction of particularly long traffic jams for each company

2. Schedule of congestion measures at rest facilities, etc.
Based on traffic congestion predictions and past traffic congestion periods (GW, Obon, year-end and New Year holidays, etc.), we expect particularly heavy congestion mainly from August 11th to 15th. Placement of parking lot control staff, installation of temporary toilets, and securing of parking spaces for large vehicles We are planning to implement congestion measures.

August 11th (Fri/holiday), 12th (Sat), and 13th (Sun) during the Obon period will be announced on January 30, 2023.
