- About restoration, maintenance construction between Joban Expressway Hirono IC to Minamisoma IC

NEXCO EAST (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has been partially interrupted since January of this year between the Joban Expressway Hirono Interchange (IC) and Minamisoma IC, whose construction was suspended due to the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station. However, the decontamination model project by the Ministry of the Environment was completed and the decontamination work was started, so that the restoration and maintenance work for all sections will be carried out.
During construction, we will aim to open it as soon as possible while coordinating with related organizations, such as disposal of construction materials, service mode, and restoration of access roads.
Goal of opening
- The area between Hirono IC and Joban Tomioka IC (extension 17km) is aimed at opening within 2013.
- The area between Namie IC and Minamisoma IC (extension 18km) is aimed at opening within 2014.
- Between Joban Tomioka IC and Namie IC (14km extension), we aim to open without delaying other open sections aiming for the end of FY2014. In addition, we will inform you again when the prospect of opening is up.
