NEXCO EAST (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has summarized traffic congestion prediction and countermeasures due to traffic congestion during the Golden Week period (April 27 (Fri)-May 6 (Sun): 10 days).
1 Request for distributed use
- This traffic congestion forecast is based on the past Golden Week period when the special holiday discount (up to 1,000 yen in rural areas) was not applied, and the traffic conditions such as last year's Bon Festival and New Year holidays.
- The number of traffic jams during the Golden Week period (more than 10km at peak) 111 times, 3 times more than 108 in the previous year It is a forecast.
- Out-bound line 46 times: +5 times (41 times last year), In-bound line 65 times: ▲ 2 times (67 times last year) * Previous year (H23.4.27-5.6:10 days)
- Congestion trends during the Golden Week period Out-bound line is May 3 (Thu) and 4 (Fri), and the In-bound line is May 4 (Fri) and 5 (Sat). We anticipate that there will be a lot of traffic congestion. (The traffic congestion tendency is as shown below)

- Out-bound: May 3 (Thu) Near Kan-Etsu Expressway Flower Garden Interchange (Fukaya City, Saitama Prefecture) About 45km
- In-bound: May 4 (Fri), 5 (Sat) Kan-Etsu Expressway Kosaka Service Area (Higashimatsuyama City, Saitama Prefecture) About 45km
- Please avoid using traffic congestion by shifting your departure time before and after the expected peak time of traffic congestion.
- The number of traffic congestion forecasts is counted on the day when the traffic congestion peaks.
