By law, free measures in the Tohoku region (support for disaster areas, promotion of tourism and support for evacuees) It was finished on Saturday, March 31, 2012 .. In addition, the free measures for those who lived in the area where the nuclear power plant accident was concerned have been reviewed and continued. Please check this out for details.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the congestion at some toll gates due to the start of the free Expressway measures in the Tohoku region.
We are working to reduce traffic congestion by increasing the number of open lanes and shortening the time required to check certificates etc. for customers who are supporting the disaster.
Customers are kindly requested to cooperate with the smooth confirmation of the staff, such as preparing a certificate, an identification document and a passport in advance and issuing them at the same time.
Also, when you go out, please avoid the crowded time and use it with plenty of time.

Use of medium-sized vehicles, large-sized vehicles and oversized vehicles, victims of the Tohoku region (including the Joban Expressway in the Mito area) and evacuees caused by the nuclear accident to support the victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake and immediate recovery and reconstruction. With regards to the above, there is no charge due to the following traffic methods.
1 Disaster victim support
Implementation period: June 20, 2011 (Monday) ~ 1 year for the time being
Target section: Attachment I [PDF: 564KB] reference
Target run: Driving using ICs existing in the above target sections as entrances or exits
- 1 The name may differ depending on the issuing municipality. Evacuees from the nuclear accident and Warning area, planned evacuation area, emergency evacuation preparation area [PDF: 579KB] You can also present a document (driver's license, etc.) certifying that you have an address in.
- 2 Since some municipalities require time to issue a disaster certificate, it is possible to use a disaster report certificate until the end of July.
(Additional information on August 26, 2011) The certificate of disaster notification will be valid until the end of September.
2 Immediate restoration/reconstruction support
Implementation period: From Monday, June 20, 2011 to the end of August for the time being
Target section: Attachment I [PDF: 564KB] reference
Target run: Driving using ICs existing in the above target sections as entrances or exits
- ETC lane is not available.
It is not free when used in the ETC lane.
Please be sure to get a pass ticket at the entrance using the general lane.
