NEXCO EAST (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Chairman: Shigejiro Yagi) is our business area during the Golden Week period (April 25, 2007 (Wednesday) to May 8, 2007 (Tuesday)). We have compiled a traffic jam forecast based on the concentration of traffic on the Expressway.
Please use it for travel planning, such as shifting the time when traffic congestion is predicted.
NEXCO EAST As a feature of this year's Golden Week in the business area, congestion due to holidays and homecoming, It is predicted that Out-bound will occur on Thursday, May 3rd, and In-bound, on Friday, May 4th and Saturday, May 5th.
Big traffic jam of more than 30km is, Out-bound in the direction Kan-Etsu Expressway, etc. near the Garden Interchange (Saitama Prefecture, Fukaya City), In-bound in the direction Tohoku Expressway is expected in the vicinity of the interchange sheet pile (Tochigi Prefecture Yaita). (See next page)
In addition, Tohoku Expressway Out-bound like Adatara service area near the (Fukushima Motomiya), even in less congestion does not occur location is usually, there is a place to pass the time required is expected to increase usually 30 minutes or more than that at the time of the traffic jam.
At locations where heavy traffic is expected to occur, temporary information boards will be installed and guides will be placed at interchanges and rest facilities to reduce congestion.
