2006 Business Plan

East Nippon Expressway Co., Ltd. has formulated the business plan for the 2006 business year.

As of today, the Company has entered into an agreement with the Japan Expressway Ownership and Debt Repayment Agency (Expressway Agency) regarding the Expressway business, and at the same time, the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has launched a business operation based on Article 10 of the Expressway Corporation Act. We have been approved for the annual business plan. As a result, the structure of the privatized company will start in earnest in 2006, and we will continue to make further efforts so that we can establish the management base as soon as possible.

The main topics of the licensed business plan are as follows.

• Four sections of Doo Expressway (Yakumo IC-Kunisumi IC) and Ken-O Road Expressway (Tsukuba Ushiku IC-Amitou IC, Kisarazu JCT-Kisarazu IC, 1 other section) will be newly opened.
• Ban-Etsu Expressway (Ono IC to Abukuma Kogen SA) into 4 lanes.
• Even in ordinary toll road Expressway in the same way as, 1 and point adding mileage points per charge amount of 50 yen.
• Aiming at this summer, we will introduce a time zone discount on the Yokohama Yokosuka Road.
• Aiming for full-scale introduction this fall, we will continue trials of motorcycle ETC.
• Promote seismic reinforcement of bridges.
• We will start publishing business, card business, and hotel business as new businesses.
