As a result of this, heavy snow and blizzards (poor visibility) may lead to chain restrictions and traffic closures on Expressway mainly in Hokkaido, the Tohoku region, and Niigata Prefecture (please see the attached map for details).

In particular, a heavy snow warning has been issued in Niigata Prefecture, and heavy snow is likely to continue.

In addition, general national Expressway that run parallel to the expressway may be closed, and extensive detours may be required, so please refrain from unnecessary and non-urgent outings.

We would like to ask all transportation companies and shipper companies to check the weather forecast and other factors in the future, and to consider making wide-area detours and adjusting the transportation date for their cooperation.
