We are pleased to announce that NEXCO EAST Tohoku Regional Head Office (Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture) has installed "short-term parking spaces" that are scheduled to begin operation at the Agatsuma Parking Area (hereinafter "PA") on the E4 Tohoku Expressway (hereinafter "Tohoku Expressway") from Tuesday, March 11, 2025, and at Sugo PA on Tohoku Expressway Expressway from Friday, March 14 ^(※).
(*The start time at Sugo PA may change depending on weather and other conditions.)
The purpose of the "short-term parking bays" is to ensure that drivers of large vehicles have more opportunities to rest by designating some of the large vehicle parking bays as parking bays for 60 minutes or less. Since the demonstration experiment began in November 2023, the effects of an increase in the number of vehicles using the bays and an increase in the turnover rate of the bays have been confirmed, so it has been decided to Large the installation of the bays in order to ensure more opportunities to rest (see Attachment 1 [PDF: 346KB]). In addition, it has been decided to install the large vehicle parking bays (5 spaces at each facility) at Agatsuma PA (Out-bound) and Sugo PA (Out-bound) as "short-term parking bays".
When using the "short-term parking space," please follow the guide signs and road markings in the rest facility and leave within 60 minutes of parking. We appreciate your cooperation in using the space appropriately so that many customers can use it.
