NEXCO EAST　The Tsuruoka Management Office (Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture) will close the E48 Yamagata Expressway (hereinafter referred to as "Yamagata Road") up and down line from the Yudono-san Interchange (hereinafter referred to as "IC") to the Tsuruoka IC during the night for tunnel lighting system replacement work, etc.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and ask for your understanding and cooperation in allowing extra time for your trip.

1. Closed section

    From 20:00 to 6:00 the next morning
    [Reserve dates: 2024 Monday, October 21 - Tuesday, October 29
    8:00pm to 6:00am the following morning (excluding weekends and holidays)

  • In stormy weather, it will be postponed to the spare day.
  • In the event of bad weather, the road closure may remain in place for Section ①, but the closure may be postponed for Section ②.
  • The decision to proceed with construction will be announced on X (formerly Twitter), etc.

3. Construction overview

Yamagata Expressway Upper and Lower Lines Yudonosan IC ~ Tsuruoka IC will carry out renewal work due to the aging of the tunnel lighting equipment and pavement repair work due to damage to the road surface.
In order to minimize inconvenience to our customers, we will close the road at night on weekdays when traffic is low, and carry out construction intensively and efficiently. This is necessary for the safe and comfortable use of Expressway, so we ask for your understanding and cooperation.

Four. Detour

For detours, please refer to the attached document [PDF: 159KB].
The detour will increase travel time, so please allow yourself plenty of time when traveling.

Five. How to obtain traffic information

(1) Guidance by distribution / posting

  • We will post posters and leaflets at toll booths and rest facilities in the surrounding area.

    The highway radio section is indicated by signs on the Expressway.
  • Highway Information Terminal
    We will inform you of road information in an easy-to-understand manner by the monitor screens installed in SA / PA.

    You can get road traffic information with VICS-compatible car navigation and other on-board devices.
  • Information is also distributed on the official X (formerly Twitter) account.
