NEXCO EAST Tohoku Regional Head Office (Miyagino Ward, Sendai City) will announce its congestion forecast (traffic congestion of 5 km or more) on Expressway in the Tohoku region during the Obon period [Thursday, August 8th, 2024 to Sunday, August 18th, 2024: 11 days].
In order to alleviate traffic congestion, we ask for your cooperation in "dispersing use of the facilities" by avoiding busy days and times.
1. 1. Congestion forecast
On Expressway in the Tohoku region, it is predicted that there will be 20 traffic jams of more than 5km in length, 10 on the Out-bound lanes and 10 on In-bound lanes.

3. Request to customers to drive safely and alleviate traffic congestion
When using Expressway, please read "Requests for Using Expressway" Appendix 3 [PDF: 92KB] before setting off to ensure the safe travels of drivers and all passengers.
4. Holiday discounts will not be applied during the Obon period.
