NEXCO EAST Hachinohe Management Office (Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture) will restrict all-day two-way traffic at the Jouboji Interchange (hereinafter referred to as "IC") to Ichinohe IC on the E4A Hachinohe Expressway (hereinafter referred to as "Hachinohe Road") up and down route from Friday, April 12 (Thursday, July 4 for the Sawauchi Bridge) for renovation work on the aging Nagarebe and Sawauchi Bridges. The renewal work will be carried out at .
The renewal work is necessary for the safe and secure use of Expressway. We will work to minimize inconvenience to our customers, and we ask for your understanding and cooperation.

2. Construction details

The construction to be announced this time is the floor slab replacement construction. In this work, the concrete floor slabs that have been damaged due to deterioration and the increase in the number of large vehicles will be replaced with new, more durable prestressed concrete slabs. In addition, high-performance floor slab waterproofing will be applied to the waterproof layer to prevent deterioration of the floor slab.

3. Requests when using

  1. Face-to-face traffic will be restricted throughout the construction section. We do not anticipate traffic jams, but there may be congestion. If you are going to use this section, please try to drive safely and leave with plenty of time to spare.
  2. Since the lanes and road shoulders are narrow, please observe the speed limit when driving, secure a distance between vehicles, and be careful of rear-end collisions. In addition, lanes will change significantly before and after the restricted section, so please follow the local guidance signs.
  3. Vehicles for construction work may enter and leave the area around the construction site, so please be careful when traveling ahead.
  4. During the construction period, we will provide traffic congestion information using LED information boards, provide construction regulation information using road information boards and road signs, and call attention to driving safely. Please check this information before driving and drive safely.

Four. Requests when passing special vehicles

Due to this traffic regulation, special vehicles exceeding 3.0 m in width cannot pass. Customers using the service, please take a detour to the surrounding roads.
Also, please note that if you have obtained a special vehicle traffic permit (*) only for Expressway routes, you will also need to obtain a permit for general roads.

  • What is special vehicle passage permission?
    Based on the Road Law and the Vehicle Restriction Ordinance, this is a permit required for special vehicles that exceed general restrictions (length, weight, vehicle width, etc.) to pass on public roads.
