  • The average daily traffic volume in the Tohoku region was 24,800 vehicles/day, about 120% compared to the same period last year.
  • Traffic peaked on August 11th (Friday) for Out-bound line and on August 15th (Tuesday) for In-bound line.

  • The number of traffic jams over 5 km was 10 times for Out-bound direction (+9 times compared to last year) and 10 times for In-bound direction (+10 times compared to last year), for a total of 20 times (+19 times compared to last year).
  • The maximum traffic jam length was 28.1km, which occurred around 6:10 on Friday, August 11, near the Koriyama JCT on the E4 Tohoku Tohoku Expressway (Out-bound line). This traffic jam was caused by an accident.
