NEXCO EAST Yokote Management Office (Yokote City, Akita Prefecture) and Kitakami Management Office (Kitakami City, Iwate Prefecture) will hold the 93rd National Fireworks Festival [2019 Saturday, August 31]. We are pleased to inform you that we have summarized the expected congestion of E46 Akita Expressway and its countermeasures as follows.​
On the day of the tournament, traffic jams are expected on the general roads around the venue, so make a comfortable travel plan and drive safely.

1 Congestion on the Akita Expressway Main Line

On the day of the tournament, because the number of customers heading to the venue is concentrated, traffic jams occur every year at the Out-bound Akita Expressway and the Omagari IC exit, which is the nearest interchange (IC). It is predicted.
In addition, even after the tournament, it is expected that traffic congestion on the Omagari IC entrance, Yokote IC entrance, and In-bound line toward the Tohoku Expressway will continue until around 3:00 the next day.

• 1 Please check the traffic congestion information on the road information boards installed at the Expressway main lines and at the toll gate entrances.
• 2 If you notice a traffic jam ahead, please turn on the hazard lamp and cooperate with the following vehicle to prevent a rear-end collision accident by signaling to the following vehicle.

2 Congestion at Omagari IC

Last year, the Akita Expressway Omagari IC, which is the closest IC to the convention venue, had an In-bound and Out-bound exit, and there was continuous traffic from the general road to the Expressway. , Please use the IC (*) before Omagari IC. Even after the tournament is over, the Omagari IC entrance is still congested from the road. Be careful ahead and keep in mind to drive safely.

• Tohoku Expressway, Yokote IC, Yokote North Smart IC (for ETC vehicles) or Yuda IC. From the Akita City area, Kyowa IC or Nishisenkita Smart IC (ETC vehicles only).
• The Nishisenkita Smart IC is normally open from 6:00 am to 22:00 pm, but it will be open from 6:00 pm, Saturday, 31st to 2:00 pm, Sunday, September 1, the following day.
• Yokote Kita Smart IC operates 24 hours a day.

3 Main measures against traffic congestion

On the day of the tournament, traffic congestion at the Akita Expressway main line and IC exits are expected, so NEXCO EAST will implement the following measures regarding traffic guidance and information provision.

1. Akita Expressway We will place a guide at the Omagari IC exit toll gate to carry out traffic guidance.
2. Traffic controllers will be assigned to parking lots on the Akita Expressway Kinshu Lake Service Area (SA), Yamauchi Parking Area (PA), Omori PA, and Nishisenkita SA (below).
3. Akita Expressway Yamauchi PA and Omori PA (Out-bound line) will distribute traffic regulation maps around the venue and provide traffic congestion information.
4. Akita Expressway A temporary LED information board will be installed on the main line to provide traffic congestion information and alert people.

4 About facility hours in Akita Expressway area

The business hours of the facilities in the area on Saturday (Saturday) on the day of the tournament and Sunday (September 1) the following day are as follows.

1. Kinshuko SA will be extended by extending the business hours of shops, light meal corners, and gas stations as follows. Please note that the Oasis Building (hot spring facility) is currently closed.
