NEXCO East Japan Tohoku Regional Head Office (Aoba Ward, Sendai City) is proceeding with emergency repairs for damage to the Expressway caused by the Tohoku Region Pacific Coast Earthquake that occurred at 14:46 on March 11, 2011, and secures general traffic. It is used by customers.
Iwaki Chuo IC-Iwaki Yokura IC of the Iwaki Chuo IC-Joban Tomioka IC section of the Joban Expressway which was closed due to the earthquake and the accident at a nuclear power plant in Fukushima Prefecture. We will inform you that the temporary restoration in between has been completed and the suspension of traffic has been lifted.
1. About cancellation of traffic closure of Joban Expressway (already done)
At 10:00 am on April 1st, the following sections were closed.

2. Future outlook between Joban Expressway Iwaki-Shikura IC and Joban Tomioka IC
This section is included in the evacuation directive area, etc. due to the accident at the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant, so it is not possible to start emergency restoration work, and there is no prospect of cancellation of suspension of traffic.
