NEXCO EAST Tohoku Regional Head Office (Aoba Ward, Sendai City), the winter tires on Expressway are being promoted in order to encourage early winter tire replacement and enlighten safe driving during the full-scale snow season. We have conducted a survey on the installation status of and announced the results.
The results of the survey conducted on November 8 are shown in the table below.
In North Tohoku (Aomori/Akita/Iwate) and Yamagata Prefecture, the winter tire installation rate is higher than in the previous survey (conducted on November 1), but it is lower in the whole Tohoku compared to the same period last year. ..
Aomori Prefecture has already observed the first snow (October 26), and the first snow day is earlier than normal. Beginning in full-scale winter, snowfall is expected in the north-eastern part of the country and in the mountain areas of Yamagata Road and Ban-Etsu Expressway, so when using Expressway, it is safe to wear early winter tires. Please drive.

- Survey method: Visually check the tire type of the vehicle passing through the general lane at the tollgate. (One time: 100 units or 30 minutes or more)
- "IC" stands for interchange, "PA" stands for parking area.
