July 19, 4th year of Reiwa
East Nippon Expressway Co., Ltd.
Niigata Regional Head Office

NEXCO EAST Niigata Regional Head Office (Chuo-ku, Niigata City) was working from April to July between the E17 Kan-Kan-Etsu Expressway Shiozawa Ishiuchi Ozawaishiuchi Interchange (IC) and Muikamachi Muikamachi IC. After August, we will continue to carry out renewal work on the bridge according to the following schedule.
The work to be carried out this time is to replace the old floor slab of Nakanoshima Bridge Nakanoshimabashi (Out-bound side) in the target section with a new one.
During the construction period, we will regulate one lane all day, which reduces the number of lanes to one lane on each side, and all day two-way traffic regulation, which will be operated with one lane on each side by consolidating the upper and lower lines on Nakanoshima Bridge (In-bound line side). ..
It is predicted that there will be no traffic congestion due to lane restrictions.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused to our customers, but we ask that customers using the target section be careful when driving. Renewal work is necessary for the safe and comfortable use of the Expressway, so we ask for your understanding and cooperation.

6. Request when using

  1. The construction section will be restricted to face-to-face traffic throughout the day for approximately 4km. The current two lanes on each side will be reduced to one lane, so please drive more safely.
  2. Since the shoulders of the road are narrow in the regulated section, please observe the regulated speed when driving, secure the distance between vehicles, and be careful about rear-end collisions. In particular, lanes change significantly before and after the two-way traffic restricted section, so please follow the local information signs.
  3. Construction vehicles come and go around the construction site, so please be careful when passing ahead.
  4. Before going out, please check the latest lane regulations and traffic information on the sites described in "8. Road Traffic Information Information". In addition, please leave plenty of time when using it.
  5. During the construction period, we will provide construction regulation information using LED information boards and road signs and call attention to driving safely. Please check this information before driving and drive safely.

7. 7. Request when passing special vehicles

Due to this regulation, from September 1st (Thursday) to October 24th (Monday), special vehicles with a width of 3.0m or more cannot pass between Shiozawa-Ishiuchi IC and Muikamachi IC (upper and lower lines). Customers using this service are requested to detour to the surrounding roads. Please contact each road administrator for traffic restrictions on surrounding roads. Also, please note that if you have obtained a special vehicle permit (*) only for Expressway routes, you will also need to obtain a permit for general roads.

  1. What is special vehicle passage permission?
Based on the Road Law and the Vehicle Restriction Ordinance, this is a permit required for special vehicles that exceed general restrictions (length, weight, vehicle width, etc.) to pass on public roads.
