2. Construction overview
At the Takaiwayama tunnel between the Joshinetsu Expressway down line Matsuida-Myogi IC and Usui-Karuizawa IC, the road surface is uplifted or damaged due to damage to the lower part of the tunnel, so tunnel reinforcement work will be carried out.
Specifically, after excavating the road surface, concrete (invert) will be installed to reinforce the bottom of the tunnel, and then pavement work will be carried out to return it to a road that can be driven. (Please refer to each figure below)
From March to April of Reiwa 4, the passages in the tunnel (watcher passage, audit passage) will be removed as a preliminary step to the installation of the invert.
Since these works take a long time, we will carry out the work while continuously implementing lane restrictions during the day and night.
In addition, we will strengthen the tunnel structure and repair damage to the paved road surface to improve safety. In addition, lane restrictions will not be enforced on weekends and holidays so as not to cause inconvenience to customers as much as possible.
We ask for your understanding and cooperation as this work is necessary to use the expressway safely and comfortably.
[Request when using during construction]
- If you use this section, please leave plenty of time.
- There are construction vehicles coming and going around the construction site, so please be careful ahead.
- Since the driving lane and shoulders are narrow in the regulated section, please observe the regulated speed when driving, secure the distance between vehicles, and be careful about rear-end collisions.
In addition, lanes will change before and after the restricted section, so please follow the signboards. - During the construction period, please check the latest regulatory information and traffic information on road information boards, SA / PA digital signage, and DraTra
■ Regulatory status
The maximum speed is 50km / h in the lane-restricted section. When using, please follow the local signs and drive safely.
■ Main construction contents (installation of invert)
Inverts are installed to improve stability in order to make the ring-shaped stronger structure for tunnels where excessive force is applied from around the tunnel.
- Invert is to integrate the bottom of the tunnel into the reverse arch with concrete, which increases the yield strength and prevents subsidence and deformation.
