NEXCO EAST Mito Management Office (Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture), take the E51 Higashi-Kanto Expressway (hereinafter "Higashi Kanto Expressway") from the Higashi Kanto Interchange (hereinafter "IC") to Ibarakimachi Junction (hereinafter "JCT"). We will close the road at night in order to carry out pavement repair work and emergency restoration work for disasters caused by heavy rain caused by typhoon No. 21.

3 Construction overview

Since the road surface is damaged between the Ibaraki Airport North IC on the Higashi Kanto Expressway and the Ibaraki Town JCT, we will carry out pavement repair work and equipment inspections. Also, between Hokota IC and Ibaraki Airport North IC, we will carry out emergency restoration work on the slope that collapsed due to heavy rain caused by typhoon No. 21. The section where this work will be carried out is a provisional two-lane expressway, and since it is not possible to carry out the work under normal lane regulations, it is necessary to close the road and carry out the work.
Therefore, in order to avoid inconvenience to customers as much as possible, we will close traffic on weekday nights when traffic is light and carry out construction intensively and efficiently. This work is necessary to use Expressway safely and comfortably, so we ask for your understanding and cooperation.
