NEXCO EAST Taniwahara Management Office (Tsukuba Mirai City, Ibaraki Prefecture) is located between Ken-o Expressway (Ken-O Road) Tsukuba Central Interchange (IC) and Ushiku Ami IC on a two-lane section (one lane on each side). In order to carry out repair work on road safety facilities and inspection work on road facilities, we will carry out night traffic closures.
We apologize for the inconvenience, but we kindly ask for your understanding and cooperation so that you will have plenty of time when you go out.
1 closed section and date and time
(1) Vertical line between section Ken-O Road Tsukuba Central IC and Ushikuami IC (12km extension)
(2) Date and time Tuesday, July 12, 2016 from 20:00 to 6:00 the next morning (10 hours)

2 Detour
Ken-O Road Tsukuba Central IC ~ Ushiku Ami detour during the road closure is between the IC is the national highway and prefectural road running parallel. The time between Tsukuba Central IC and Ushikuami IC (about 12km) is usually about 15 minutes, but if you use the detour route, the time will be about 25 minutes, so please take time to go. 3 Construction overview
Ken-O Road order to ensure safe and comfortable traffic between the Tsukuba Central IC and Ushikuami IC on the Ken-O Expressway, we will simultaneously replace the protective fence damaged by the accident and inspect various road equipment.
In order to minimize the impact on our customers when we carry out these constructions, we will close the roads during the nighttime on weekdays when traffic is light, and carry out intensively and efficiently.
We ask for your understanding and cooperation so that our customers can use our products safely and comfortably.
Main work contents
・Road maintenance work
We will improve the runnability and safety by replacing the protective fences damaged by the accident and improving the road markings (lane marks).
・Facility maintenance work
We perform inspections to keep road lighting and ETC machinery in good condition at all times.
4 How to obtain traffic information
(1) Closed posters, etc.- We will post construction notice signs, posters, etc. on the surrounding IC and rest facilities.
- A banner will be posted on the overpass of Joban Expressway and Ken-O Road.
