East Nippon Expressway Co., Ltd.
Chiba Management Office

Keiyo Road Funabashi Interchange (IC) and Takeishi Interchange (IC), there is chronic traffic congestion mainly in the morning and evening commuting hours. We are proceeding.

As part of this traffic congestion countermeasure work, the NEXCO EAST Chiba Management Office (Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture) will extend the "acceleration lane" and "deceleration lane" of the Hanawa Interchange (IC) and Makuhari Interchange (IC) located in the same section. I will do it.

In order to carry out this work, we will install a fixed regulation (temporary protection fence) on the median strip side, and we will continue to enforce lane regulation and road shoulder regulation for about one year after the installation.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we kindly ask for your understanding and cooperation so that you can check out the traffic information when you leave and make sure that you have time to leave.

4 Effects after measures

The extension work for the acceleration lane and the deceleration lane is positioned as the first step of the traffic congestion measures on the Keiyo Road (between Funabashi IC and Takeishi IC), which is implemented in advance. By carrying out this construction, it is possible to branch to the interchange and join the main line with plenty of time, so it is expected that the flow of traffic will be smooth and the current traffic congestion will be alleviated by about 30%. This helps reduce traffic accidents during traffic jams.

Road shoulder regulation8:00 to 18:00
  • Lane restrictions will not be enforced during morning and evening rush hours, during busy periods such as busy seasons, or during stormy weather.
  • The type of traffic regulation and the regulation time may change depending on the progress of construction.

1. Traffic regulation on the median side

  • Be careful when passing because the lane width and shoulder width will be narrow.
  • When a construction vehicle goes in or out of the fixed regulations, the rotating lights and hazards will be turned on to slow down the vehicle, so be careful of rear-end collisions.
