NEXCO EAST Kanto Regional Head Office (Taito-ku, Tokyo), prior to the opening of all lines of the Kita-Kanto Expressway (nicknamed "Kitakan") on March 19, 2011, each prefecture on Saturday, February 5, 2011 "Yuru-chara®" gathers in the Tokyo Wan Aqua-Line Expressway Umihotaru Parking Area (PA), "The Yuru-chara® Festival will be opened on the entire North Kanto Expressway soon!" Will be held with the Kita Kanto Wide Area Cooperation Promotion Council (consisting of Ibaraki, Tochigi and Gunma prefectures).
Kita-Kanto Expressway is a Expressway length of about 150km that connects Gunma, Tochigi, and Ibaraki prefectures to Gunma prefecture's Takasaki city, and connects to the Pacific coast of Hitachinaka city, Ibaraki prefecture. The Tohoku Expressway and Joban Expressway have been linked to each other until now at Kitaseki, and the remaining Ota Kiryu Interchange (IC)-Sano Danuma IC (18.6km) will open, and three roads including the Kan-Etsu Expressway will open. It is expected that in addition to improving access to the northern Kanto region and the Tohoku and Niigata regions, the number of sightseeing tours in each prefecture will increase.
At the event, not only the three northern Kanto prefectures connected by Kitakan, but also Fukushima prefecture and Niigata prefecture, which are connected by a loop on the Expressway such as the Ban-Etsu Expressway, gathered "Yuru Chara®" representing each prefecture. We will hold a commemorative photo session and sell local products. In addition, we will hold various events such as quiz competitions and lottery events where special products of each prefecture are hit.

(1) Commemorative photo session with "Yuru Chara®"
"Yuru-chara®" representing each prefecture gathers and holds a commemorative photo session with customers.

(2) Quiz competition about participating prefectures
A special product of each prefecture will be presented to a total of 30 customers who answered the quiz after each participating prefecture.
(3) Lottery competition
From the customers who purchased the special products of each participating prefecture, 100 people were selected by lottery, such as Rusk, Kanto/Tochigi lemon milk, Gunma/Tochigi/Ibaraki gourmet food and goods such as Baumkuchen, Umihotaru PA. We will present popular items etc. The 1st class is planned to have 10 gourmet sets of 3 prefectures in the northern Kanto region.
(4) Sale of special products of each participating prefecture
We will sell konjac in Gunma prefecture, strawberry "Tochiotome" in Tochigi prefecture, Imochi Ichimoimo, as well as special products delivered from the three northern Kanto prefectures, Niigata prefecture and Fukushima prefecture.
