Today, the Kanagawa Prefectural Police has announced that they have arrested an illegal passer-by who ran away without paying a toll for violating the Road Improvement Special Measures Law*.

On August 23, at the toll booth on Yokohama-Shindo Road etc., this vehicle unilaterally threw a piece of free traffic declaration paper for seven consecutive times with the same vehicle without paying the toll. It is an illegal traffic to run away. In addition, after that, a person who claimed to be a person related to the group chairman who opposed the toll road system contacted us that he had conducted the illegal traffic.

The Company judges that these are malicious acts that can be taken as protests and provocations against the arrest of a person who had repeated illegal traffic on the Kanagawa Prefectural Yokohama-Shindo Road on August 22, and immediately, the Kanagawa Prefectural Police Expressway I reported it to the Traffic Police Corps and arrested me today.

We have always taken the stance of not allowing unauthorized traffic so as not to damage customers' trust in the toll road business. We will continue to take a resolute attitude toward illegal traffic and will actively cooperate with police investigations to tackle illegal traffic.

For illegal tolls by the suspect, we will add a surcharge (twice the amount exempted) to the illegally exempted toll and charge three times the illegally exempted toll.
