On Sunday, November 27, 2005, the 4.1km extension of the Gaikan Expressway (Misato JCT-Misato Minami IC) was opened. We have compiled a summary of the survey results regarding traffic conditions (preliminary figures) one week after opening, and we will report this.

According to the results of the survey, traffic conditions have improved significantly, including the elimination of the congestion on the main line at the Outer Ring Misato West (exit).

The main line congestion at the outer ring Misato West (exit) has been resolved

With this extension, the congestion on the main line of Sotokan Misato Nishi (exit), which was the last stop, has been resolved! Congestion loss time at the Misato IC exit (west) intersection is reduced by about 60%! [PDF: 157KB]

Shortening the time required!

The time required from Soka IC to Route 6 has been reduced to about half (16 minutes), improving access to the Chiba area! [PDF: 112KB]

Improved traffic conditions on surrounding roads!

Traffic on the surrounding roads has been converted to the outer ring, improving traffic conditions (up to 23% reduction in traffic volume) [PDF: 74KB]
