NEXCO東日本北海道支社（札幌市厚別区）は、10月6日（木）、E5道央自動車道（道央道）苫小牧東インターチェンジ（IC）において、北海道警察・北海道開発局・北海道運輸局と合同で、以下のとおり、道路交通法違反や車両制限令違反の一斉取り締まり及び車両脱輪防止の啓発を実施し、計13台の車両の運転手に対し、積載方法などに関する点検・指導を行いました。
従前より、交通事故防止・道路保全などの観点から、関係機関と連携して違反車両に対する取り締まりを行っておりますが、依然として、積載不適当車両からの積載物の落下に起因する交通事故や、重量制限違反車両による路面・道路構造物の損壊などが、社会的に大きな問題となっています。
関係機関と一体となり、安全・快適な高速道路空間の実現を目指すべく、今回の取り組みを広く周知することで、違反の防止・抑止につなげたいと考えております。

2. About our efforts to prevent vehicle limit violations
Vehicles violating the general limits for width, weight, length, and minimum turning radius stipulated by the Vehicle Limitation Ordinance (Vehicle Limitation Ordinance), which is a government ordinance of the Road Act, are in principle prohibited from traveling on roads. (See the diagram on the right), and if a vehicle that violates the vehicle limit ordinance runs on the road, there is a risk of damage or deterioration of the road and the occurrence of a traffic accident. (Note 1)
In order to prevent these situations from jeopardizing the safety and security of customers who are driving, NEXCO EAST has organized a "vehicle limit team" (Note 2) and is cracking down on vehicles that violate the vehicle limit order on a daily basis. . In addition, we will take measures such as suspending discounts for policyholders of "Large Volume/Frequency Discounts" (Note 3) who have repeatedly violated the vehicle limit ordinance.

If it is unavoidable, you can drive a vehicle that exceeds the limit value of the vehicle limit ordinance by obtaining a special vehicle passage permit from the road administrator in advance.

It is an organization consisting of road supervisors designated by the road administrator based on the Road Law, and has the authority to order the suspension of traffic of vehicles that violate the vehicle limit ordinance.

This is a measure implemented by NEXCO3 for customers who frequently use Expressway By signing a large-lot / frequent discount contract, tolls on Expressway managed by NEXCO3 will be discounted.
